MIRA Project

Development of a Sustainable Molecular Diagnostic Test Platform for the Prevention of Cervical Cancer

The MIRA project is a collaborative initiative aimed at developing a sustainable, instrument-free point-of-care test (POCT) for the rapid detection of pathogens such as Human Papillomavirus (HPV). By enabling simple on-site application, for example, in medical practices or even at home, expensive laboratory equipment can be bypassed, treatment decisions can be accelerated, and plastic waste can be reduced. This approach allows for both a reduction in healthcare costs and the earlier, more successful treatment of infections and cancer.

Our partners in this joint project are INTU Diagnostics GmbH and the Fraunhofer IZI Leipzig. The project is funded by the European Union.
